Magyar és maja - két testvérnép

2009. 09. 25.

Dr. Simon Péter úr közel húsz éven át kutatta fáradhatatlanul az amerikai indiánkultúrák, s a magyar nép között immár egyértelmű rokonsági kapcsolatokat.
Manapság kanadai, amerikai, mexikói egyetemek professzorai tanítják tudósunk tanulmányait, míg idehaza még a vita eshetősége sem sejlik fel a forradalmi felfedezés árnyékában. Jöjjenek azonban a magyar-indián rokonság tényét bizonyító elemek!

Simon Péter úr saját fülével hallotta a dakota gyerekdalt: "ketó ketó hetyen topa", azaz "kettő kettő legyen négy". Nyelvész kollégái megerősítették, hogy a régi időkben a négyet még topaként is emlegették a magyar (!) iskolákban. Két másik döbbenetes esetet imigyen idézett indiánékkal kapcsolatban a professzor: Móricz János antropológus az 1960-as években Ecuadorba látogatott, s ott magyarul kommunikált a helyi törzsekkel, míg egyszer pedig egy ősi japánt kiválóan beszélő távol-keleti szerzetes-misszionárius értett szót a felkelő nap országának lingvisztikai kódjait használva a rézbőrű ecuadoriakkal. Az ősi japán tudniillik a magyarhoz hasonlóan szintén az ataiszi ősnyelv szógyökeit használja, ezt talán leginkább a nevek írásmódja tudja bizonyítani, lévén két nép írja mindössze a vezetékneve után a keresztnevét ezen a Földgolyóbison: a magyar és a japán. A szakrális szertartások szépséges momentuma indiánéknál a tábortűzgyújtás, ekkor hangzik fel a következő spirituális áhitatot közvetító szent mondóka a sámán szájából: "Rakattu ja dizet, ill ja füsti Hezod - Wakonda Dédpa, att mö nek Atonhe!", azaz "Megrakják a tüzet, száll a füstje Hozzád - Nagyszellem Dédapa add nekünk Szellemedet!".

Újult erővel a klímaváltozás ellen

A Királyi Kancellária: a Sándor-palota

A Sándor-palota a budavári Szent György téren található. A téren az 1760-as évektől a királyi palotát kiszolgáló fegyverraktár, laktanya, továbbá néhány polgári épület és egyházi intézmények kaptak helyet. A telek, amelyen a Sándor-palota áll, 1803-ban került Sándor Vince gróf tulajdonába.

A tervezésről és az építkezésről mindössze egyetlen biztos dátum áll rendelkezésünkre: 1806-ban „végezték be”. A palota déli orommezőjében a befejezés évszáma ma is olvasható: MDCCCVI. Nem tisztázott teljesen, hogy Pollack Mihály, avagy a bécsi Johann Aman tekinthető-e a Sándor-palota szellemi atyjának, szakemberek szerint azonban a palota rendkívül gondos belső kialakításában a letisztult Pollack-stílus érhető nyomon.

A palota első lakói Sándor Vince gróf és felesége, Szapáry Anna grófnő voltak. Személyük a nádori udvar környezetében tűnik fel, nemegyszer a társasági élet szervezői, a palotabéli ünnepségek, bálok és más reprezentatív események arculatának meghatározói között. Fiuk, Sándor Móric - aki 1805-ben már itt születhetett -, legendás lovas bravúrjaival és különcnek nevezhető viselkedésével szerzett kétes hírnevet.

A Sándor-palota története szorosan összefonódott a magyar történelemmel. Budapest ostromában a palota súlyos károkat szenvedett, egyes részei csaknem teljesen megsemmisültek. A részlegesen helyreállított épület egészen a 2000-es évek elejéig használaton kívül volt. A 90-es években megkezdődött régészeti feltárásokat követően a teljes helyreállítás 2002-ben fejeződött be. 2003 februárja óta a Sándor-palota a Köztársasági Elnöki Hivatalnak adott otthont, 2008-tól a Királyi Kancelláriának.

Ugyancsak itt tájékozódhatnak a palota 200 éves évfordulója alkalmából szervezett programokról.

Rania Jordán Királyné látogatása az UNICEF-nél New Yorkban

Her Majesty Queen Rania and Ann M. Veneman, UNICEF Executive Director visit Girls' School in East Harlem

http://www.queenrania.jo/Data/photos/1117.bmp

NEW YORK, 21 September 2009 - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan and UNICEF Executive Director Ann M. Veneman today met with students and staff at the highly successful Young Women's Leadership School in East Harlem to discuss the important role that quality education plays in improving children’s lives.

Queen Rania, who has served as UNICEF's Eminent Advocate for Children since 2007, has supported a number of education initiatives focused on getting girls into school. She became United Nations Girls' Education Initiative’s (UNGEI) Honorary Global Chair in July 2009.

The visit is Her Majesty Queen Rania’s first to New York since her UNGEI appointment.

caption

“Providing quality education to girls is a sound investment that helps build a brighter future for their communities and their countries,” said Veneman. “Her Majesty Queen Rania is a strong voice promoting access to a quality education for children around the world.”

For nine consecutive years, 100 per cent of graduates of the Young Women’s Leadership School of East Harlem have been accepted into institutions of higher education.

During their visit to the middle and high school today, HM Queen Rania and Executive Director Veneman visited classrooms and then spoke to a 100-student assembly. They also took questions during a 100-student assembly before visiting the library equipped with computers where she showed girls how their voices can be heard through the 1Goal campaign.

“I want you, girls with voices, to speak up and shout out for girls whose cries fall silent,” said HM Queen Rania. “I want you to fight for them, as others are fighting for you. I want you to pull up another girl, and help her stand tall and strong. I want you to be great, and inspire greatness in others. If anyone can do it, you can."

Queen Rania also showed girls how their voices can be heard through the 1Goal campaign on computers in the school library.

As Honorary Global Chair of UNGEI, HM Queen Rania lends her support to a global partnership of organizations from both the United Nations family and civil society that is committed to achieving gender equality in education.

UNGEI was established in 2000 to provide the extra support that girls in many countries need to enter and stay in school. Since 1999, the total number of out-of-school children has dropped by 16 per cent globally. Despite this progress, there are still approximately 100 million children out of school, and the majority are girls.

About The Young Women's Leadership School
The Young Women’s Leadership School of East Harlem was the nation’s first single-gender public school to open in the country in more than 30 years. It was founded by Ann and Andrew Tisch in partnership with Center for Educational Innovation – Public Education Association (CEI-PEA) and the then New York City Board of Education. Today, it is the flagship school in a network of five all-girls’ public schools serving low-income minority students, supported by Young Women’s Leadership Network. TYWLS of East Harlem a New Visions School provides an outstanding college-prep education in a nurturing academic environment to 430 girls in grades 6 through 12, with 85% of them eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. H.M. Queen Rania of Jordan joins UNICEF in congratulating young women of Harlem

NEW YORK, USA, 22 September 2009 – The Young Women’s Leadership School of East Harlem serves students from minority and low-income families. It is a pioneer in all-girl public education, and a model of success.

VIDEO: Watch now

Located in one of New York City’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods, the school defies the worst characteristics of schools in poor American communities – low enrolment, high drop-out rates and general underachievement.

In fact, the Leadership School has been ranked in the top 4 per cent of New York City high schools. Even more impressive, every graduate of the school for the past nine years has been accepted into college.

Royal recognition
To recognize the school – and to mark the appointment of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan as the Honorary Global Chair of the United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI) – H.M. Queen Rania and UNICEF Executive Director Ann M. Veneman visited the students yesterday.

After a tour that included an eighth-grade science class and an 11th-grade choral recital, H.M. Queen Rania and Veneman addressed about 100 of the students. They encouraged the girls to appreciate their education and to help promote universal access to schooling for their global peers.

“Providing quality education to girls is a sound investment that helps build a brighter future for their communities and their countries,” said Veneman.

Championing others
H.M. Queen Rania told the girls that education was, for her personally, “my compass, my springboard, my sword.”

The queen, who is also UNICEF’s Eminent Advocate for Children, said she was familiar with stories about social and economic circumstances causing girls to skip school, engage in substance abuse or petty crime, or have children while they are still children themselves.

“That’s not your story,” she said emphatically.

She also encouraged them to consider the plight of the 100 million children around the world – most of them girls – who have been kept out of school by neglect or by force. “I want you, girls with voices, to speak up and shout out for girls whose cries fall silent,” she said.

‘1Goal: Education for All’
As Honorary Global Chair of UNGEI, H.M. Queen Rania lends her support to an international network of partner organizations dedicated to achieving gender equality in education.

She and Veneman took questions from the student audience at the Harlem school and then concluded their tour with a visit to the school library, where H.M. Queen Rania showed students how to sign up in support of the ‘1GOAL: Education for All’ initiative.

The project was launched with FIFA, the world governing body of football, in the run-up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Its aim: to collect signatures from footballers and their fans worldwide in support of the Millennium Development Goal of universal access to primary education by 2015.

Hans Heysen

One of Australia’s greatest artists, Hans Heysen (1877-1968), is celebrated with the first major retrospective of his work in three decades at the Art Gallery of South Australia, from 14 November. The exhibition which will tour nationally in 2009 and 2010, features more than a hundred works created over the artist’s seventy year career, and marks the 40th anniversary of Heysen’s death.

Curator of the exhibition, Rebecca Andrews, says “Heysen’s art was prolific, popular and hugely influential. Of course, he remains South Australia’s most loved and renowned artist but during his lifetime, he was affirmed as one of the most significant artists in the country.”

The Land of the Oratunga
Hans Heysen, Australia, 1877 - 1968, The Land of the Oratunga, 1932, Hahndorf, South Australia, watercolour on paper, 47.3 x 62.6 cm; South Australian Government Grant 1937, Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide.

Testament to Heysen’s national standing, the Gallery has borrowed masterpieces from every major collection in the country as well as from many regional and private collections, to tell the story of Heysen’s art in this exhibition.

“Hans Heysen was one of those rare artists who changed the way we view the Australian landscape. His distinctive gum trees have become part of our national imagery” says Art Gallery Director, Christopher Menz.

In addition to his iconic ‘gum tree’ paintings, the exhibition takes a fresh look at Heysen’s lesser-known themes. It traces his development from early student days painting in Europe from 1899-1903, including images of Paris and Venice, to the revelation of barren landscapes and ancient mountain forms in the Flinders Ranges from 1926 onwards.

The Art Gallery of South Australia holds the largest and most representative collection of works by Hans Heysen, including more than two thousand drawings, oils and watercolours bequeathed by the artist himself. Included in the exhibition are many of Heysen’s greatest oil and watercolour paintings, alongside rarely-seen preliminary sketches and studies.

Born in Germany in 1877, Hans Heysen emigrated to Adelaide, South Australia with his family at the age of seven. After four years studying in Europe, Heysen embarked on one of the most successful careers in Australian art. He became synonymous with the Adelaide Hills town of Hahndorf, where he worked and lived with his wife Selma (“Sallie”) and their eight children, including the acclaimed artist, Nora Heysen. Today, Heysen remains a household name in South Australia.

2008 marks the 40th anniversary of the death of Sir Hans Heysen. This timely exhibition, staged by the Art Gallery of South Australia, is the first comprehensive survey of the artist’s work since the Gallery’s Hans Heysen Centenary Retrospective of 1977. It is accompanied by a comprehensive, illustrated exhibition book which includes essays on many of Heysen’s most important works by Australian scholars.

Bowen's aesthetic is modelled on artistic conventions popularised by French artist Jean Dubuffet with his concept of 'Art Brut' or 'Raw Art'. Through his prints Dean transforms the geography of the landscape into the geography of the face using reductive markings to replicate the features, often with a touch of humour. Európa öröksége a magyar állam bölcsője

Itt született valószínűleg Vajk, a későbbi István, s itt került sor a megkoronázására, a mára már eltűnt, Szent István protomártír tiszteletére emelt templomban.

A bizánci udvarban nevelkedett III.

A korszak európai jelentőségű emléke a várkápolna, amelynek nyolc éve tart a restaurálása, s jövőre talán ismét megnyílhat a látogatók előtt.

Viszonylag épségben vészelte át az elkövetkező ostromokat, a török kort is, míg végül a 19. században köveire szedve beépítették a készülő székesegyházba.

A reneszánsz virágzást ugyanis hamar pusztulás követte: Mohács után a vár védelmi jellege lett a döntő, s később egyszerű végvárrá vált.

évfordulójára Gerevich Tibor vezetésével 1934-ben kezdetét vette a palota maradványainak feltárása, míg a helyreállítást Lux Géza tervezte.

Ön néhány napja érkezett vissza New Yorkból, ahol komoly kitűntetést vehetett át az indiai külügyi államminisztertől.

Ennyire nehéz elsajátítani a hindi nyelvet?

A jelentősebb tárgyak, fogalmak, pl. óceán, város hímnemű, a kisebbek pl. folyó, falu nőnemű.

Nagysikerű, A hunok Indiában - a heftaliták története című szakkönyve után most min dolgozik?

A kusánok történetén. Ötven évvel később elfoglalták Baktriát, nagyjából a mai Afganisztán területét.

A kusánok ellenőrizték a Selyem út déli, Kashmiron, Indián, Kabulon át vezető szakaszát a mai Kasgartól Heratig. Mivel mindenkit megadóztattak, India hálás volt nekik, mert bekapcsolódva a kereskedelembe fellendült a kézműipar, kereskedelem és Gudzserátban épült a fő kikötővárosuk. Itt és Radzsasztánban napjainkra sok csatornázott város romjait tárták fel, amelynek kútjaiból a mai napig isznak a falusiak.

Kik és mikor vetettek véget ennek a civilizációnak?

A szászanidák.

Lassanként beolvadtak a heftaliták közé, akik magukat szanszkritül svéta-huna, fehér hunnak nevezték.

Greenhouses in Laeken

Die Königlichen Gewächshäuser von Laeken
Virtual tour

During the 19th century, progress in construction techniques, especially the use of metal and glass as construction materials, made a new type of building possible: the greenhouse.

In 1873, architect Alphonse Balat designed for King Leopold II a complex of greenhouses which complement the castle of Laeken, built in the classical style. The complex has the appearance of a glass city set in an undulating landscape. The monumental pavilions, glass cupolas, wide arcades that cross the site like covered streets, are much more than an anecdote on the architectural applications of iron and glass or on little greenhouses of exotic plants. What the Royal Greenhouses express concerns architecture and, specifically, a major construction programme: the "Ideal Glass Palace".

They are the culmination of various meetings, letters, sketches and plans exchanged between architect Alphonse Balat and King Leopold II. But above all, they are a reminder that they inspired the new Belgian architecture of the day, and their influence spread, with Art Nouveau, throughout the world.

The present-day plant collection at the Greenhouses in Laeken is valuable from three viewpoints. First of all, some of the plants belonging to Leopold II's original collections still exist. Furthermore, the current collections still respect the spirit that prevailed when the original collections were planted. Finally, the Royal Greenhouses still contain an enormous number of rare and valuable plants.

Each year, in the spring, the Greenhouses of Laeken are opened to the public, during almost three weeks. This tradition has been carried on for a century.

Overall view
Built on the initiative of King Leopold II, The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are among the main monuments of the 19th century in Belgium. They were built entirely of metal and glass, which was a spectacular innovation at the time. The greenhouses house a sizeable collection of plants and flowers, particularly exotic ones, including a very important collection of camellias. Each year in the spring, the greenhouses are opened to the general public, which demonstrates the desire of the current Sovereigns to share their love of plants and flowers with everyone.

The Pier (outside)
Built in 1886-1887, the Pier Greenhouse was intended to receive guests when the King was holding court in the Winter Garden or the Dining Room Greenhouse.

The Pier (inside)
The staircase leads to the Winter Garden. At the ends of the Pier are two statues by Charles Van der Stappen, Dawn and Evening. Medinillas (a tropical plant from the Philippines) are laid out in Chinese vases brought back by King Leopold II from a trip to the Far East while he was still Duke of Brabant.

The Winter Garden

Designed by architect Alphonse Balat and built between 1874 and 1876, the Winter Garden was the first greenhouse in the imposing city of glass which would be built over thirty years on the Laeken estate. The dimensions of this greenhouse allowed tall palm trees, the majority of which date from the time of Leopold II. As soon as it was completed, this greenhouse was used for royal receptions.
